Network monitoring tool (IP traffic monitoring tool)
I find Colasoft Capsa useful for network and IP traffic monitoring, with both free and commercial versions, but the free version will serve you well enough, test it out. It works on the Windows O/S environment, with a very dynamic and intuitive GUI interface.
Another beauty for network administrators is Network Mapper (Nmap), it has both CLI and GUI (Zenmap) views. Works both on Linux, Mac and Windows O/S and its Open Source systems security tool, free download and more.
Wireshark is another freely available tool for network traffic monitoring, very useful to for packets analysis and network traffic data captures, needed for further analysis.
